Point to Point Wireless Bridge Project
Since bringing Point to Point Wireless bridge technology to the attention of businesses in Kent a few weeks ago the response has been fantastic.
Cognitive Media a multi award winning animation studio based in Folkestone immediately saw the potential enhanced functionality this could bring.
As the company expanded and out grew the initial office space the need for an offsite studio became imperative.
Luckily the perfect building became available across the street but concerns mounted when they realised sending files from the studio back to the main office building would be painfully slow, and because digging under the road to install fibre cable is prohibited options seemed limited.
After seeing the blog about point to point wireless Cognitive Media contacted MPR to see if this was a viable option. After an initial site survey it quickly became clear that the distance was well within reach, there was a clear line of site between the two buildings and because this would only be a one off cost its was greatly more cost effective and much faster than having another line installed.
MPR was able to install the wireless bridge over a 2 day period and now there is a connection with speeds up to 150Mbps super fast when compared to the 10Mbps a new line would of achieved.
The simple solution and one off cost means Cognitive Media’s two offices are now connected and sending large files is a breeze.Read more
Backing up of data is the most important task every business should do! Its time to consider Offsite Back Up
Most businesses do already use back-up solutions such as removable hard drives and other onsite solutions, but in the case of a disaster which can happen so easily in many different ways i.e. a corruption, human error, loss of the hard drive or in some cases fire or flood this is simply not enough. Having multiple redundancies is key and Offsite Back up can be a cost effective and simple way of achieving this.
MPR take the security and privacy of you data very seriously. All data is encrypted to the highest level using the latest methods.
Most insurance companies make it a requirement to have an offsite backup solution before they will consider compensation. eVault in partnership with Amazon and Vembu provide the very latest in cloud backup solutions. With some of the lowest cost per Gb in this fast growing market, eVault will save you time, money and give you peace of mind.
Moving your data to the cloud is a simple trouble free process that does not affect the daily running of your business. MPR can then set regular back-ups of you most important data to happen automatically.

Five out of nine firms from across southern England that have won chamber of commerce awards are based in the county.
Underlining that Kent and Medway are good for business, the five have scooped top prizes in the British Chambers of Commerce awards.
The Ashford area did well, with three of the five winners based in or near the town.
Jacksons Fencing, the 65-year old company based at Stowting Common, near Ashford, was named Business of the Year.
Quorum Technologies, based at Eden Business Centre, Ashford, won the Achievement in International Business accolade; while MPR IT, a computer company in Ashford, won the Commitment to People Development accolade.
Minimise, the 2011 Medway Business of the Year that has just won a multi-million pound roof lighting contract with a national retailer, was the Most Promising New Business; while Nova IT Solutions, with offices in Maidstone and Canterbury, was singled out for its Excellence in Customer Service.
Jo James, chief executive of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce – all the winners are members – said: “It’s fantastic that five of the nine regional winners come from Kent. It just goes to show what an entrepreneurial business community we have in our county.”
At a presentation in County Hall, Maidstone, Mark Dance, Kent County Council’s cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “These amazing achievements show that Kent is open for business.
“We are very proud of our chambers of commerce, which are doing a good job for the people of Kent. To get five of the nine regional winners is excellent.”

Yesterday was a total surprise for the team here at MPR IT Solutions. Andy Ransley was asked to go to the Kent County Council offices, but was unaware of why. On arrival he was greeted by Jo James from the Invcita Chamber of Commerce and 4 other chamber members. After a wait in the reception we were then walked over to one of their lovely meeting rooms.
Upon entering we sat down and the news was broken, there where 5 regional winners of the chamber business awards 2012! And we were one of them.
We felt like stars as the press snapped away getting many pictures of the winners, each award was presented by the Chamber and Mark Dance, the Kent Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development.
What award did MPR IT get? it was the Commitment to People Development, which is very close to our hearts and our commitment to our staff, customers and community is a huge driving force behind MPR IT, and be recognised with an award for it is overwhelming.
We are very passionate about the development of our staff and equally our customers! Not only can we say it now, we can prove it too!
Its a great honour to win this award and we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in MPR IT Solutions from the start!
We are off to the national finals in November where we are against some of the biggest names in the world in our category such as Jaguar Land Rover! I never imaged our name would be held in the same sentence as some of the worlds most iconic brands!Read more
